Jamie O'Brien Unleashed

A surfing video with Jamie O Brien from Rusty, is what we have for you to feast your eyes on today, feel free to insert what ever word you want after Jamie O'Brien's name to describe how nuts a surfer he is. Jamie O Brien, was once the young up and coming grom of the North Shore, believe it or not the guy is now 26. Jamie O'Brien is a Pipe specialist; you only have to look at the list of victories he has had to realise that wave is his home and he knows how to dominate it, his latest victory being the Volcom Pro which he won in February this year. Jamie's prowess at Pipe has come about through him living practically next to the break and the fact that his dad, a lifeguard at the spot would have been able to pass down his knowledge of the break down to him. It is surprising that he has not done better on the WCT, this is not dig by any means he won at Trestles and Pipe in 2004, but so far he does not seem to have been able to re create the success found at Pipe regularly at other spots, having said that Jamie's priorities seem to lie in making movies and progressing the sport rather than bringing in the trophies. If you go to his website Jamieobrien.com the sole focus is his not yet released surf video Who Is J.O.B. and this is what we think Jamie wants to define himself by, making ridiculously well shot and produced surfing videos that are complimented by his own high standard of surfing.

Writing this article we couldn't find any information on when the movie is due to be released as other posts have pointed out he has been pretty quiet about the movie, all we know is the trailer is (of course) ridiculous and it follows his 3 year trip across the globe hunting down some monstrous barrels.

Twitter has to be the ideal social media medium if you are a pro surfer, that or a video blog, because with twitter you don't have to write lots of content you can just give people a little glimpse in to the pro surfer lifestyle that you live, for most that's enough, any more and jealousy would turn to a mild form of hatred due to people realising that pros do have "the life".
